On November 25, the 9th China International Copyright Expo and 2023 International Copyright Forum concluded in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The three-day expo saw the signing of 360 projects on site, with a total contract value of 284 million yuan. Additionally, 427 strategic partnerships were established, with a value of 1.341 billion yuan.

The expo broke records in various aspects, including exhibition area, number of booths, size of exhibition halls, overall scale, on-site activities, event promotion, and number of attendees. A total of 92 exhibition groups took part in the exhibition, with 812 units involved in the arrangement. Other participants consisted of delegations from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), copyright collective management organizations at home and abroad, copyright industry associations, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), 18 copyright demonstration cities, 3 national copyright innovation and development bases, and more than 30 key copyright enterprises. A number of 61,434 exhibits were showcased at the expo and 13,151 of them were successfully traded.

The expo presented five highlights: building a high-standard copyright exhibition system with a wide range of exhibitors; creating a high-level international communication platform to tell China's copyright stories well; holding high-quality copyright forum activities to lead the frontier development of the industry; focusing on efficient industrial supply and demand matchmaking to promote the transformation and utilization of copyright; innovating high-tech application scenarios to activate the value of copyright data.

By applying digital technology, the expo incorporated the iconic image of "hibiscus", representing the city flower of Chengdu, to innovate copyrighted scenarios for smart city applications. In a pioneering move, it organized an "immersive" online exhibition, attracting 112 participants from all across the country and displaying 37,173 digital copyright works.
