On November 21, the 15th Sichuan Provincial Trade Union Congress  kicked off. It is of great significance for thoroughly studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implementing the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the strategic deployment of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and rallying the entire workforce in the province to strive in unity for promoting the governance and development of Sichuan to a new level in the new era, and for writing a new chapter for the province in advancing Chinese modernization. We extend warm congratulations on the convening of the congress.

Over the past five years, Sichuan's workers have striven for excellence, and forged ahead in unity. They have shouldered their responsibilities on the main battlefield of boosting economic growth, made contributions on the great journey of building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, moved forward courageously in advancing rural revitalization, scaled new heights in promoting self-reliance and strength in science and technology, pooled wisdom and strength in building a beautiful Sichuan, and taken the lead in fostering a harmonious society. As a result, they have written a brilliant chapter for Sichuan in pursuing the Chinese Dream and carrying forward the spirit of hard work on the vast land of Bashu. Over the past five years, trade unions at all levels in Sichuan Province have held high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, fully implemented the spirit of the 19th and 20th CPC National Congresses, closely centered on the decisions and plans of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions , focused on major issues on the great journey, given extra attention and care to vulnerable groups, and identified and responded to changes, ushering in a new phase.

At present, we are in a critical period of building a modern socialist Sichuan in an all-round way. Standing at a brand new starting point, the trade unions of the whole province must closely revolve around the Party's central task of building a great country and national rejuvenation, follow the theme of contemporary worker movement to strive for achieving the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation, focus on strengthening workers' political consciousness, advanced nature and ability to represent the people, continuously improve their leadership, organization and service capabilities, and better fulfill their mission of being loyal to the cause of the Party and serving workers wholeheartedly. Sichuan's trade unions should stride forward, and draw a new chapter on the new journey. Trade unions at all levels in the province must always adhere to the overall leadership of the Party as the supreme political principle, and always maintain the correct political direction of trade union work. They must always promote the implementation of the fundamental policy of relying wholeheartedly on the working class, continuously adopt measures supporting trade unions to help "boost economic growth", and deepen their ability to organize and mobilize workers. They must always adhere to the worker-centered work orientation, focus on problems of the greatest, most immediate, and most practical concern to workers, make solid efforts to offer good services to workers, and earnestly perform their basic duties. They must always deeply grasp the requirements of the times for deepening reform and development of trade unions, devote themselves to focusing on key points and making up for weaknesses, persistently deepen reform and innovation of trade unions, and better play the role as a bridge between the Party and workers.

Looking forward to a bright future, we will continue to sing the melody of "powerful workers", and always demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility of "capable trade unions". We must rally more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, under the strong leadership of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, consolidate confidence, pool strength, work hard, forge ahead with determination, strive to usher in a new phase of high-quality development of Sichuan's trade union work, rally all workers in the province in a united endeavor for promoting the governance and development of Sichuan to a new level in the new era, and for writing a new chapter for the province in advancing Chinese modernization.
