On April 19, Vice Governor Chen Wei inspected the preparations for air transport guarantee during the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games (WUG) at Tianfu International Airport, where he stressed that the airport should firmly follow the decisions and plans of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, ensure work safety as well as epidemic prevention and control, improve guarantee services, and make efficient, high-quality and high-standard preparations for the upcoming event. 

At the air traffic control tower, the joint operations control center and the terminals, Chen inspected the airport planning and construction progress, watched the drill of athletes' arrival and departure guarantee for the Games, and was briefed by Sichuan Airlines Group and Sichuan Province Airport Group on the preparations for 2021 FISU WUG. 

He added that as the success of 2021 FISU WUG is of great significance to Chengdu, Sichuan and China, at the crucial stage of preparations, the airport should further enhance its safety awareness, take up its responsibilities, and resolutely accomplish the task of air transport guarantee; coordinate aviation safety and anti-epidemic precautions, carefully design all links of closed-loop operations, and ensure the smallest work units assume their responsibilities and meet relevant requirements; work out a guarantee plan in a scientific way, develop an emergency response plan, carry out drills of whole-process flight guarantee in a timely manner, and continuously improve flights, crews and ground service guarantee, so as to actively present a good image of Sichuan in opening up to the outside world. 

The participants also included Dai Yongbo, Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and Director of Sichuan Provincial Office of Railway and Airport Construction, and comrades in charge from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Sichuan Province.
