In order to implement the strategic plans and decisions of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province on building Sichuan into a manufacturing powerhouse, the Sichuan Leading Group for Building Sichuan into a Manufacturing Powerhouse held the 2022 2nd plenary meeting on April 15. The meeting studied and made plans related to building the pilot and demonstration zones for a manufacturing powerhouse, and promoting the steady growth of the industrial economy. Some relevant documents were reviewed at the meeting. Luo Wen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Executive Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and Director of the Leading Group, and Luo Qiang, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and Deputy Director of the Leading Group, attended and addressed the meeting. 

The meeting stressed that all localities and departments should earnestly implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry as well as relevant arrangements of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and work harder to accomplish annual targets. We must promote the construction of pilot and demonstration zones for a manufacturing powerhouse, guide pilot cities on formulating quantifiable, examinable and practical implementation plans, discuss and adopt practical and effective policies and measures, and make a policy support list. We should make every effort to implement the policies for steady industrial growth, and make full use of the 16 national measures to boost the industrial economy, the seven provincial policies to advance project implementation, attract investment and stabilize growth, and the 12 policies to facilitate investments in manufacturing projects. We need to strengthen our efforts in project investment in the industrial sector, earnestly carry out monitoring and scheduling, accelerate project construction, reserve a number of major projects, hold the 2022 World EV & ES Battery Conference and the World Clean Energy Equipment Conference successfully, and attract a number of demonstration projects in a targeted and well-planned way. 

The meeting required that the special working groups under the Leading Group should strengthen their sense of responsibility, focus on key issues and key tasks, and fulfill their duties in an in-depth, detailed and pragmatic manner. Each member unit shall, according to its functions and responsibilities, strengthen cooperation and connectivity, strive to overcome the obstacles and bottlenecks that hinder the high-quality development of Sichuan's manufacturing industry, form synergy in work, and ensure that all tasks of building Sichuan into a manufacturing powerhouse are put in place this year.
