The CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and Sichuan Provincial People’s Government jointly issued Chongqing-Sichuan Joint Plan for Implementing the Planning Outline for the Construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. 

The Joint Plan thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on promoting the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, focused on key tasks stipulated in the Planning Outline for the Construction of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and specified 47 tasks in 10 aspects, including accelerating the establishment of a new pattern for better development of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, jointly establishing a modern infrastructure network, working in collaboration to set up a modern industrial system, cooperating in the construction of a sci-tech innovation center with national influence, creating in concert with each other an international consumption destination with Bashu characteristics, jointly building a solid eco-security shield in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, going hand in hand to creating a new height for inland reform and opening-up, making concerted efforts to promote urban-rural integrated development as well as joint contribution to and sharing of public services, and enhancing guarantees for planning implementation. Responsible departments from Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality were also specified in the Joint Plan. 

As required in the Joint Plan, all departments from Sichuan and Chongqing should resolutely implement the strategic deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, enhance implementation of national strategies from ideological, political and practical angles, fulfill respective responsibilities, ramp up policies and projects support, create a favorable social environment and promote project-based and list-based tasks completion, in a bid to develop Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle into an influential major economic center, a sci-tech innovation center, a new reform and opening-up highland, a high-quality livable place, a good example for regional cooperation as well as a major growth pole and a new power source for national high-quality development.
