According to the unified plans of both the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, went to Chengdu to supervise the Meeting of Criticism and Self-criticism of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee on Party History Learning and Education on January 15. He stressed that we must carefully study and thoroughly comprehend General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the opening ceremony of a study session on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, which was attended by major provincial and ministerial leaders and cadres, and that we must champion the great founding spirit of the Party in coordination with studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, strengthen confidence in our history, effectively align our thoughts and actions with the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and work hard to overcome difficulties, so as to welcome the successful convening of the 20th CPC National Congress.
    Before the meeting, Huang Qiang reviewed reports of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and its members on self-criticism. At the meeting, reports were published to explain the implementation of rectification measures proposed at the meeting of criticism and self-criticism in 2020 and made clear opinions and suggestions solicited from the Standing Committee of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and its members. We must strengthen confidence in our history, thoroughly study and grasp the decisive significance of the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the defining of the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, attach importance to strategies and tactics, adhere to self-reform, promote the normalization and extend the long-term effect of the Party history learning and education, and firmly uphold the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and the defining of the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position in both the CPC Central Committee and the CPC as a whole and the CPC Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership.
    Huang said, in the previous year, Chengdu witnessed major progress in all work, and as the frontrunner of the whole province, it showed great development momentum. Currently, Chengdu is assuming greater responsibility for high-quality development and facing bigger risks. Therefore, we must draw wisdom and strength from the century-old Party history, and take up the great mission assigned by the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee. We must take steady growth as a priority. We must introduce targeted policies, promote the implementation promptly, focus on the "three economic growth drivers" and the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, yield satisfying results in the first quarter, and spare no effort to contribute more to steady growth. We must firmly guard the bottom line for safety and the red line for ecological conservation. Moreover, we must strengthen our efforts in epidemic prevention, continue to find out and strengthen weaknesses, store enough daily necessities, constantly improve emergency response capacity, and contain the spread of sporadic cases once they emerge in a swift and effective way. We must make rectifications according to the feedback from the central ecological and environmental protection inspectors, try in every endeavor to manage pollution prevention and control, adhere to the approach of addressing both symptoms and root causes, carry out investigation and rectification of hidden dangers in production safety, make sure that environment quality only gets better, not worse, and take drastic measures to prevent serious and major accidents. We must devote every effort to the holding of the World University Games. Besides, we must rise to challenges, strengthen communication with the International University Sports Federation, draw on the experience of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, comprehensively study and analyze the situation of the pandemic, take the worst scenarios into account and be fully prepared, develop plans that are more strict, detailed and practical, step up efforts in practices, and guarantee the completion of all preparatory work.
