The fifth representative list of State-level intangible cultural heritage items (185 in total) and an extended representative list of State-level intangible cultural heritage items (140 in total) were approved by the State Council and released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism recently. Among them, 14 items belong to Sichuan, including the cooking skills.

　　In June 2019, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched the recommendation of and application for State-level intangible cultural heritage status in the fifth representative list. Since 2020, a total of 11 panels of experts have been formed, involving folk literature, traditional medicine and folk customs, to assess relevant items according to procedures. The 325 items released this time cover 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) as well as Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions.

　　The selected items in Sichuan include: Duangong Opera (Wangcang County), Tibetan Chess, Mount Qingcheng Martial Arts, Litter Holding Skills (Huaying Mountain), Rattan Weaving Technique (Huaiyuan County), Yi Embroidery (Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture), Sichuan Cuisine Cooking Skills, Traditional Yi Architectural Construction Technique (Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture), Bench-based Dragon Dance (Anren Township), Tibetan Tangka (Langkajie's Tangka), Vinegar Making Skills (Baoning Vinegar), Shoemaking Handcraft (Tangchang Cloth Shoes), Green Tea Traditional Production Skills (Mengshan Tea), and Traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy (Li Zhongyu Pestle and Needle Therapy).
