Recently, the Health and Family Planning Commission of Sichuan Province has issued the Action Plan for Children's Health of Sichuan Province (2018-2020), which has set the staged goals for improving children’s health of our province.

　　The Plan has clearly clarified that Sichuan will take a holistic approach to prevent birth defects, improve children nutrition, emphasize early cultivation, and put forward science and technology innovation to improve children's health. By 2020, the infant mortality rate and that of under-five-year-old in the province will be reduced to 6.5‰ and 7.5‰ respectively, and the exclusive breastfeeding rate of infants born in 0-6 months will be increased to over 80%. We will expand the screening of neonatal diseases step by step, increasing the detection rate of congenital hypothyroidism and phenylketonuria in newborn babies to more than 90%, and that of hearing disability to over 70%, and boosting the coverage rate of popularizing free pre-pregnancy eugenics health check in the target population to 99%. We will see to it that obesity, poor eyesight, and behavioral psychological problems in children are effectively controlled.

　　The Plan also proposed measures to incorporate maternal health management and child health management of the basic public health services into the overall promotion of “Internet + medical health”. In this way, we will be able to carry out telemedicine services for children, and promote the digitalization of children's health services.
