Building Smart Cities by Sichuan-Chongqing-Yunnan-Guizhou Development, Urban Design of the South Sichuan Port Area of Sichuan Pilot Free Trade Zone Received Approval

  The Urban Design of the South Sichuan Port Area of China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, compiled by Shanghai Fudan Planning and Architecture Design Institution Corporation Limited, was recently approved by the Luzhou Municipal People’s Government, which indicates that in the future, Luzhou City will build the area around the “Belt and Road”, the Yangtze River Economic Belt Free Trade Port and the Sichuan-Chongqing-Yunnan-Guizhou Smart City Development. The reporter learned on July 31st from the Management Committee of the South Sichuan Port Area of Sichuan Pilot Free Trade Zone.

  The urban design centers on the “Belt and Road”, the Yangtze River Economic Belt Free Trade Port and the Sichuan-Chongqing-Yunnan-Guizhou Smart City Development. Its planned structure features “Two Centers, Three Axes, Two Corridors and Four Areas”. “Two Centers” include the north sub-center and the east sub-center of the city, the “Three Axes” encompass Shulu Avenue development axis, Dongcheng Road development axis, and the contact axis of Hope Avenue-Lingang Avenue, and the “Two Corridors” refer to the Wine Culture Theme Park- Xueshi Mountain Park - the north and south ecological corridor of the Yangtze River, the Central Ecological Park - the east and west ecological corridor of the Yangtze River, the "Four Areas" consist of the Headquarters Base Area, the Yudaihe Area, the Yutang Industrial Area, and the Integrated Port Area.

  The target is divided into four stages: to form intelligent industrial clusters by 2020; to build export processing trade clusters by 2025, making the South Sichuan Port Area of Sichuan Pilot Free Trade Zone a modern processing and trading base reaching the whole world; to construct advanced manufacturing bases like AI-based manufacture of intelligent equipment and smart terminals by 2030; to finish building the "Belt and Road" Free Trade Port and Sichuan-Chongqing-Yunnan-Guizhou Smart City Development by 2035.
