On January 11, a teleconference was held to mobilize the resources and make preparations for the 2022 Spring Festival travel rush in Sichuan. Speeches on the relevant arrangements were delivered by Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department, Sichuan Provincial Department of Public Security, Sichuan Provincial Department of Transport, Sichuan Provincial Commission of Health, CAAC Southwest Regional Administration, and China Railway Chengdu Group respectively. Vice Governor Luo Qiang attended and addressed the teleconference.
    The teleconference pointed out that the related work will be more challenging and arduous in the context of repeated COVID-19 outbreaks and increased safety risks caused by extreme weather in China. All localities, departments and units should earnestly improve their political stance, thoroughly study and implement the arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province for the work related to the Spring Festival travel rush, think about worst-case scenarios, make the fullest preparations, and strive for the best results, so as to ensure the successful completion of the tasks of the Spring Festival travel rush.
    The teleconference stressed that we should make solid progress in epidemic prevention and control, focus on key links in virus curbs, rigidly observe COVID-19 precautions for the Spring Festival travel rush, expand contactless ticket sales and check-in services, strictly control passenger load factor, refine epidemic emergency response plans, and make good preparations for emergency response reserves. We must persevere in all work related to road traffic safety, strengthen oversight and law enforcement in key areas, ensure that roads are smooth by relieving traffic congestion, and guard against and respond to work safety risks, extreme weather risks, and risks of passengers being stranded, in a bid to guarantee the safety of people's lives and property. We should strengthen organizational leadership, overall planning and coordination, increase transport capacity supply, optimize transport capacity scheduling, meet the transportation needs of vaccines, grain, natural gas, agricultural materials and other key supplies urgently needed for people's livelihood, and guide staggered travel of the public, in order to ensure a safe, orderly and smooth operation of the 2022 Spring Festival travel rush.
