According to the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, on January 8, the Leading Party Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province held a meeting of criticism and self-criticism on Party history learning and education. The Group members were required to gain a profound understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Party history learning and education, study and implement the guiding principles of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and champion the great founding spirit of the Party. The members should also learn from the historical experience of the Party's century-long struggle, strengthen confidence in our history, fulfill the mission of the times, cultivate the awareness of serving the people, act with courage and a high sense of responsibility, unite and lead the people to follow the new path to achieve the second centenary goal. To achieve these goals, the members must find out and analyze all existing problems, and carry out criticism and self-criticism based on the thinking and work of the Group and individuals. Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Governor, and Secretary of the Leading Party Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, chaired the meeting and made a speech.
    The Group attached great importance to the meeting. Before the meeting, they formulated special work programs, conducted study and discussions, extensively collected opinions, conducted heart-to-heart talks, profoundly analyzed problems, and wrote review reports, laying a solid foundation for the meeting. The meeting shared information on how the rectification measures proposed at such meetings in 2020 were implemented, as well as the opinions and suggestions solicited in advance on the Group and its members. Huang Qiang, on behalf of the Group, reviewed the Group's work and took the lead in delivering an individual review speech. Then the members reviewed and criticized each other in turn, so as to unify their thoughts, enhance solidarity, supervise each other, and make progress together.
    In his concluding speech, Huang Qiang stressed the need to take this meeting as a new starting point to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guiding principles of Xi's important speech at the criticism and self-criticism meeting on Party history learning and education of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. The members should champion the great founding spirit of the Party, strengthen confidence in our history, draw on the century-old Party history, and keep in line with the CPC Central Committee in thinking, politics, and practice. They must firmly uphold "the Party's decision to establish Comrade Xi Jinping's core position in the CPC Central Committee and the CPC as a whole and define the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era", General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position in both the CPC Central Committee and the CPC as a whole, and the CPC Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership, thus following the new path to achieve the second centenary goal. The members must implement the guiding principles of the Economic Work Conferences of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee on all fronts. With focus on economic development, they should seize major strategic opportunities such as the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, carbon emission peaking and carbon neutrality, go all out to ensure constant economic growth and development, and make every endeavor to complete the annual economic and social development goals and tasks, thus making remarkable achievements in high-quality development. The members must adhere to the people-centered development philosophy, always put the people at the heart of all works, carry out in-depth activities of "bringing practical benefits to the people", complete 30 tasks for people's livelihood, ensure a high employment rate, provide health care services for the elderly and children, speed up the improvement of education and health services, renovate old communities, and make solid efforts to help people in need, thereby continuously enhancing the people's sense of gain, happiness and security. The members must remain highly alert to potential risks, think about worst-case scenarios, carry forward the fighting spirit, enhance the capability to address challenges, and respond to predictable and unpredictable risks and challenges on the way forward. They need to strictly and meticulously conduct regular and targeted epidemic prevention and control, forest and grassland fire-fighting, safe production, disaster prevention, mitigation and relief, prevent and resolve risks in the finance, real estate and other fields, secure a decisive victory in pollution prevention and control, and resolutely guard the safety bottom line and the red line for eco-protection. The members must enhance the Party building in the government system, strengthen the Party's overall leadership throughout the entire process of government work on all fronts, strictly implement the decision-making procedures of "decision-making on major issues, appointment and dismissal of important cadres, investment decisions on major projects, and use of large funds", and strengthen rigid budget constraints. The members need to strictly abide by political discipline and rules, prudently make decisions and wield power, eliminate formalism and bureaucracy, remain loyal, clean-fingered and responsible, and work hard to overcome difficulties, in an effort to implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
    Non-party Vice Governor Yang Xingping attended the meeting as a nonvoting delegate. Comrades-in-charge from the Sichuan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Organization Department of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee attended the meeting and made comments.
