On the morning of September 28, the opening ceremony of the 7th China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference and the ceremony for Re-Opening of Jiuzhai Valley were held in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, attended the ceremonies and announced the commencement of the events and the re-opening of Jiuzhai Valley scenic area to the pack crowds; Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, delivered a speech; and Deng Xiaogang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, also attended the event.

　　Over four years of restoration after the major earthquake, Jiuzhai Valley, the “fairyland on earth”, came back with its spectacular scenery. Prior to the ceremonies, there were singing and dancing performances given by local Aba’s people to show their hospitality to the guests from afar and a thematic film Greater Glamor Hidden in Mysterious Jiuzhai Valley was aired on the spot as an introduction to the further improvement on local facilities and tourism service level amid restoration and reconstruction.

　　In the speech, Huang Qiang extended his warm welcome and gratitude to distinguished guests and friends. He said that Sichuan enjoyed advantageous cultural and tourism resources, and every tourist would discover it’s indeed a place of natural and ecological beauty, colorful civilization profoundness and the joy of peaceful life when paying visit to Sichuan. During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, Sichuan’s cultural and tourism industry was embracing golden opportunities. The construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic cycle was advancing to achieve more substantive results and specified its goal to develop a world-class tourist resort teemed with international styles, Chinese characteristics and Bashu culture. Early this year, the central government listed Chengdu-Chongqing region as one of the “poles” of a national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, which was speeding up the formation of a new pattern of “faster traveling but slower sightseeing” in tourism sector. All relevant departments in Sichuan would deeply study and thoroughly implement General Xi Jinping’s important remarks on integrated cultural and tourism development, follow the new trends of upgrading in tourism consumption to increase supply of medium-end and high-end tourism products, strengthen the construction of “Famous Tourist Counties of Tianfu” and “Famous Tianfu Tourism Brands”, create Great Jiuzhai Valley, Great Mount. Emei, Great Panda and other ten quality tourism routes and take a good road of development with features of green ecological protection and red revolutionary legacies, so as to develop the cultural and tourism industry into a pillar of quality development and make Sichuan the best tourist destination in the globe. A sincere welcome was extended for all investors to be the first movers, lay out investment, share new development opportunities and work together to create a new and bright future for the cultural and tourism industry. Huang also warmly welcomed friends from home and abroad to visit the fascinating Jiuzhai Valley and beautiful Sichuan Province and enjoy local marvellous landscape, distinctive life custom and pleasing Bashu culture.

　　The opening ceremony was chaired by Gan Lin, a member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, with speeches respectively delivered by Liu Ping, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Gao Zheng, Director of the Industrial Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the P.R.C., Lyu Yongmei, Director of Pacific Asia Travel Association China, and Guido Brettschneider, a representative of TUI Group and CEO of TUI China, a video speech addressed by Sun Yu, General Manager of CGDG, and Sichuan's cultural and tourism projects recommended and promoted by Luo Qiang, Vice Governor of People's Government of Sichuan Province. In addition, 88 major cultural and tourism investment projects from 17 cities (prefectures) were signed at the conference and 17 of them signed on the spot of the opening ceremony, covering leisure and resort, travel and health care, mountain sports, rural tourism, development of culture-tourism complex, facilities construction and other fields.

　　At around 11:00 am, Peng Qinghua announced the commencement of the 7th China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference and the re-opening of Jiuzhai Valley scenic area.

　　Later on, Peng Qinghua, Deng Xiaogang and other leaders, together with the attending guests, visited thematic exhibitions about culture and tourism in Sichuan Province and Aba Prefecture, witnessing the restoration and rebirth of Jiuzhai Valley, one of world natural heritages, after its tiding over the destructive earthquake, touring around the magnificent landscape in Tianfu area, appreciating the historical and splendid Bashu culture, and getting immersed in the upward development of cultural and tourism industry in the province against raging pandemic. Peng also met with attending heads from well-recognized enterprises and expressed his warm welcome to their attendance on behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and both parties shared opinions on further deepening the cooperation in terms of culture and tourism.

　　The opening ceremony was also attended by Sichuan provincial leaders Shi Xiaolin, Wang Yihong, Bao Hui, Cui Baohua, heads from provincial departments and some central units in Sichuan and representatives of some international tourism organizations, overseas organs to China in Chengdu, international travel agents, famous cultural tourism enterprises and relevant parties. More than 1,500 guests from cultural tourism investment enterprises and representatives of travel agents from home and abroad attended the opening ceremony through online approach.
