On March 31, delegated by Peng Qinghua, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province went to Zitong County of Mianyang for investigating the protection and utilization of the revolutionary legacy "Liangdancheng". He stressed the need to digest and follow General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the work of revolutionary cultural relics, make practical efforts to protect and utilize revolutionary cultural relics, spare no efforts to protect and carry forward the precious revolutionary cultural legacy "Liangdancheng", steadily strengthen the Party history education, and seek to carry forward the "Two Bombs and One Star" spirit (i.e. spirit of love for the motherland, selfless dedication, self-reliance, hard struggle, strong coordination, the pursuit of new heights), thereby pushing Sichuan's governance and prosperity to a new level, and meeting the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC with great achievements.

　　"Liangdancheng" is the former site of China Academy of Engineering Physics, the headquarters of China's second nuclear weapons R&D base after Qinghai, and also the place where many outstanding scientists such as Wang Ganchang, Deng Jiaxian and Yu Min, recipients of the "Two Bombs and One Star" Merit Medal, once worked and lived. It is rated as a national classic revolutionary-themed tourism scenic spot, an education base for defense-related science and technology industries and military industry culture, and a patriotism education base in Sichuan.

　　Huang Qiang visited the office building of the Academy, the history museum, the former residence of Deng Jiaxian, the remains of the air-raid shelter for war preparedness and the auditorium, during which he carefully watched the relevant cultural relics, documents and photos, looked back on the arduous course and great achievements of the old generation of scientists, and checked the protection and utilization of "Liangdancheng".

　　Huang Qiang emphasized that the "Two Bombs and One Star" spirit is an important part of the spirit legacy of the CPC members. "Liangdancheng" is a precious wealth and a model for inspiring all to carry forward the spirit of "love for the motherland, selfless dedication, self-reliance, hard struggle, strong coordination, the pursuit of new heights". Therefore, it is necessary to attach great importance and try all means to protect, manage and utilize the revolutionary cultural legacy. A leading group for the protection and utilization and cultural relics collection and sort-out for "Liangdancheng" should be set up. Special teams under the leading group should be set up and guided by the Publicity Department of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and other departments. The heads of Mianyang and Zitong should take the initiative to develop work plans and implement them in an orderly and timely manner. The protection and management should be based on the actual situation and followed by classification, such as conducting rescue repairs of dangerous buildings, restoring key cultural relics to their original condition and strengthening their protection, dismantling incongruous non-cultural relic facilities and developing and utilizing cultural relics in an appropriate manner. More efforts should be made to collect and sort out documents and historical relics and review and report them in time, and improve their exhibition display. Mianyang and Zitong should actively connect with relevant national ministries and commissions, constantly improve the protection level of cultural relics, input more to explore the revolutionary legacy, and tell revolutionary stories, so as to enhance the reputation of the "Two Bombs and One Star" revolutionary-themed tourism and the brand of Party history education.

　　Huang Qiang also randomly checked the personnel on duty at the micro volunteer fire station, Qiqushan Branch of Zitong Forest Fire Brigade. He asked firefighters should be always ready and seriously implement various fire prevention measures, striving to protect the forest.
