On March 20, Luo Qiang, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province met with Song Xinchao, Deputy Head of the National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCHA).

　　On behalf of the provincial government, Luo Qiang expressed his heartfelt thanks to the NCHA for its long-term care and support of Sichuan's archaeological work, and warmly welcomed its Deputy Head Song Xinchao to guide the relevant work at Sanxingdui Site! Sichuan will firmly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statements and instructions on archaeological work and earnestly do a good job in the protection and utilization of cultural relics according to the deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council and the requirements from the NCHA.

　　The two sides of Sichuan and the NCHA had in-depth talks on the excavation, protection, display and utilization of Sanxingdui Site and the in-depth research on Bashu Culture. The talks also focused on strengthening team construction of institutions engaged in museology, stepping up cooperation between central and local governments, and co-establishing the archaeological discipline of Sichuan University. The two sides will put joint efforts into the archaeological work at Sanxingdui Site and other important sites, further deepen the archaeological research and interpretation of Sanxingdui Site, and actively advance the construction of the Sanxingdui National Cultural Relic Protection and Utilization Demonstration Area. Moreover, they will join hands to coordinate the relationship between effective protection and rational utilization of cultural relics in a bid to further enrich the history and culture, thus supporting the construction of a province and a country with strength in culture.
