Sichuan Attracts Over 25 Million Tourists during National Day Holiday

  Sichuan's 702 A-level tourist attractions received 25.7404 million tourists and achieved ticket revenue of 345 million yuan, according to the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on October 7. Compared with the same period in 2020 and calculated according to the same caliber, the number of tourists and ticket revenue increased by 13.04% and 15.21% respectively; they were restored to 75.56% and 95.02% in the same period in 2019.

  The province's 710 public cultural venues received 2.8127 million people. Among them, 206 cultural centers received 435,800 visitors, 206 libraries received 404,800 visitors, and 298 museums received 1.9721 million visitors.

  Compensatory travel was booming across China during the National Day holiday, with Chengdu ranking third among the most popular destinations in the country during the holiday and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture among the top 10 most popular destinations for short-distance tours, according to the big data of online tourism platforms.

  The Tianfu tourism brands Sanxingdui, Jiuzhaigou and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding remained popular. From October 2 to 4, the number of tourists in Jiuzhaigou scenic area reached the upper limit of 41,000. The number of tourists received by Sanxingdui Site increased significantly compared with the same period in 2019, and Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was increasingly popular.

  In addition, the popularity of key scenic spots remained high. The province's 15 5A-level tourist attractions received a total of 2.3636 million tourists, with ticket revenue totaling 125 million yuan. Driven by the A-level scenic spots, the province's rural road trip routes were favored by tourists, with diverse rural tourism forms like parent-child tourism, leisure vacations, hiking and cycling, picking experiences, and family gatherings.

  The famous tourist county of Tianfu is a new engine for the high-quality development of Sichuan's culture and tourism. During the holiday, 31 famous tourist counties and 36 candidate counties presented a gratifying development momentum of tourism economy.

  The first batch of famous Tianfu tourism brands were released this year, which generated synergistic effects in combination with the famous tourist counties of Tianfu. The Siguniangshan Town in Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture launched tourism programs like snow mountain sightseeing, mountaineering, exploration, hiking and cultural experience, achieving tourism income of 104.4656 million yuan, up 43.79% year on year. Hongsha Village, Jinjiang District, Chengdu received 253,300 tourists and realized tourism income of 49.2216 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 158.03% and 167.28% respectively. Didigu Village, Ebian County, Leshan launched Yi ethnic embroidery, Yi bonfire experience and other Yi ethnic characteristic tourism activities, receiving 10,300 tourists and achieving tourism income of 2.37544 million yuan.

  Moreover, the first batch of famous tourist hotels of Tianfu were also popular among tourists, with the average occupancy rate of the eight famous tourist hotels of Tianfu reaching 94.42%.
