On January 5, Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary
of CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Acting Governor of the People's
Government of Sichuan Province, met with Nepalese Ambassador to China Mahendra
Bahadur Pandey and his delegation at Chengdu Jinjiang Hotel.
Huang extended a warm welcome to Ambassador
Pandey and his delegation for their visit to Sichuan. Huang said that in recent
years, Sichuan and Nepal have carried out fruitful cooperation in many fields.
Sichuan will back up the Consulate General of Nepal in Chengdu in its site
selection and operation. It is hoped that through capitalizing on major
opportunities like the Western China Development Strategy and the
Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, the two sides will enhance their cooperation
in economy, trade, investment, and logistics, and boost exchanges in tourism,
culture, and education through online and offline channels, to further benefit
the people of both places. Additionally, Huang sincerely invited a delegation
from Nepal to participate in the 31st FISU World University Games to be held in
Chengdu this August.
Pandey expressed his gratitude to Sichuan
for its support in establishing the Consulate General of Nepal in Chengdu. He
said that Sichuan, with abundant natural resources and its industrious and
talented people, stands out with broad development prospects, boasting a promising
future for its cooperation with Nepal. He believed that after the opening of
the Consulate General of Nepal in Chengdu, the two sides will carry out more
frequent and closer exchanges and interactions, raising their cooperation to a
higher level. He said he would do his best to promote the Nepalese delegation
to participate in the games.
Vice Governor Li Yunze and Secretary
General Zhang Yan of the People's Government of Sichuan Province also attended
the meeting.
