According to plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and requirements of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province convened the 2020 Democratic Life Meeting. Its theme was to conscientiously study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen political building, increase political ability, maintain close ties with the people, secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and achieving the first centenary goal, and embark on a new journey toward the goal of fully building a modern socialist province. Members were required to review their contributions to the political work, reflect on their own performance, and criticize themselves and each other, around the theme stated above and based on practical work of the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province. Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, Acting Governor, and Secretary of the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

　　The Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province attached great importance to the meeting. It formulated special work programs, studied learning materials, extensively collected opinions, conducted heart-to-heart talks, profoundly analyzed its problems, and wrote review reports in advance, laying a solid foundation for the meeting. At the meeting, reports were published to explain the implementation of rectification measures proposed at democratic life meetings with such special themesas "staying true to the Party's original aspiration and founding mission"; made clear opinions and suggestionssolicited this year. Huang Qiang made comparative reviewson behalf of the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Provinceand became the first to deliver his own comparative review; other members madecomparative reviews and criticized each other in turn. As a result, the meeting realized the goals of unifying thoughts, clarifying directions, enhancing solidarity, and pooling strength.

　　Huang Qiang stressed in his concluding remarks that the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province should see this democratic life meeting as a new starting point, thoroughly studying and carrying out important guiding principles made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Democratic Life Meeting of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and further strengthening political building, increasing political ability, maintaining close ties with the people, striving to realize new progress on all fronts, and commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with prominent achievements under the strong leadership of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee. In terms of taking a clear political stand, the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province should see firm and conscious implementation of the Two Upholdsas the first priority, taking the lead in improving political judgment during the comparative review; regardXi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the fundamental principle, taking the lead in improving political perception during thorough study, exhaustive understanding, true believing, and earnest practice of it; consider the learning and implementation of the guiding principles of the 5th plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and achievement of a sound start in the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period as a comprehensive examination, taking the lead in improving political executive capability during the duty fulfillment and contributing to promoting epidemic prevention and control as well as economic and social development, accelerating the driving of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle construction, serving the new development paradigm building, and preparing for the worst cases in development; countbeing people-centered as a vital guide, taking the lead in practicing "staying true to its original aspiration and founding mission" when serving people; treat being strict in self-discipline as the bottom line, taking the lead in purifying the political ecosystem when enforcing strict Party self-governance.

　　Huang Qiang pointed out that the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and members should clarify rectification directions, improve relevant measures, make a list for problems to be rectified, set deadlines for rectification, and implement such measures one by one. As a result, the Party Leading Group of the People's Government of Sichuan Province can be stronger and the work of the People's Government of Sichuan Province can obtain greater results.
