On January 12, Sichuan Investigation Corps
of National Bureau of Statistics released the CPI data for last December that
the province saw its CPI a month-on-month rise of 0.6% and a year-on-year
decline of 0.2%, representing a decline of 0.6 percentage points compared with
last November. Cumulatively, the province's CPI rose 3.2% from January to
December last year, down 0.4 percentage points from January to November last
year.
Last December, prices of food, tobacco and
liquor rose 0.7% year on year, with food price rising 1.1% year on year, edible
oil price rising 3.2% year on year, fresh vegetable price rising 9.4% year on
year, pork price going down 3.5% year on year, and poultry price going down
9.5% year on year. Pork prices have fallen year on year for three straight
months since the first decline last October.
Prices of clothing, housing, transportation
and communications showed a year-on-year downward trend, with the price of
vehicles going down 2.3% year on year, fuel price for vehicles down 13.6% year
on year, price of clothing down 0.1% year on year, and price of clothing
materials down 0.8% year on year. However, the clothing processing service fee
rose 0.4% year on year.
Prices of articles and services for daily
use, education, culture, entertainment, health care and other goods and
services rose to varying degrees year on year. The prices of educational
supplies, educational services, traditional Chinese medicine and gold jewelry
rose by 1.1%, 1.6%, 1.7% and 14.1% year on year respectively.
On a month-on-month basis, prices of food,
tobacco and liquor rose 1.6% month on month, with the price of fresh vegetables
rising 2.1% month on month, and that of pork rising 8.8% month on month. Prices
of clothing, articles and services for daily use, transportation and
communications rose slightly month on month. Prices of education, culture,
entertainment, health care, and other goods and services fell slightly month on
month.
