On September 21, Yin
Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of
the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Jarno Syrjälä, Ambassador
of the Republic of Finland to China and his retinue in Mianyang.
Yin Li welcomed and
thanked Jarno Syrjälä for leading his delegation to attend the 8th China
(Mianyang) Science and Technology City International High-Tech Expo in Sichuan.
Yin said that this session of the expo, under the theme of technological
innovation and open cooperation, was staged both online and offline. It has
been a large-scale important event held by Sichuan to coordinate epidemic
prevention and control with economic and social development since the beginning
of this year. Sichuan welcomes the active participation of Finnish enterprises
in the expo and expects closer relations between the two sides for mutual
benefit and win-win results as well as more practical and in-depth cooperation
in such fields as science and technology manufacturing, green energy,
ecological environmental protection and cultural tourism. Sichuan is ready to
work with foreign countries to overcome the impact of COVID-19 through making
the most of science and technology and usher in an even brighter future for
international exchanges and cooperation.
Jarno Syrjälä said
that the holding of this session shows the importance Sichuan attaches to
science and technology and the vitality of its economic development, and
manifests its confidence in dealing with the impact of the epidemic and
determination to open wider to the outside world. Finland attaches great
importance to the friendly cooperative relations with Sichuan and is willing to
actively participate in the economic and social construction of the province,
learn from its advanced experience in fighting the epidemic, share development
opportunities and create a better future together.
