Yin inspected the epidemic prevention and treatment procedures for landed international flights, requiring relevant departments to further regulate their work, dynamically adjust and improve the closed-loop management measures from customs to households, ensure that the prevention and control measures are in place and effective, and continuously strengthen the management and services for inbound flights and personnel. Afterwards, Yin presided over a symposium, communicating with the heads of relevant departments and units and experts of epidemic prevention and control on further strengthening prevention and control of imported cases. Yin said that since the COVID-19 outbreak, staff workers at airports and ports and medical workers have made important contributions to the phased achievements in Sichuan's epidemic prevention and control with a high sense of responsibility, firm working style and hard work, which deserves greatest respect. At present, the phased achievements made in the national and Sichuan's epidemic prevention and control have been further consolidated, but the virus is still raging across the world, Yin said, calling on departments at all levels throughout the province to be fully aware of the difficulty of preventing imported cases, thoroughly implement the central government's strategies and measures for epidemic prevention and control, make full preparations both physically and mentally, guarantee the epidemic prevention and control work at airports without discount, and strictly conduct quarantine inspection for inbound personnel, quarantine for confirmed cases and medical observation for close contacts in accordance with laws and regulations, so as to resolutely prevent domestic epidemic inbound caused by imported cases and safeguard the hard-earned achievements we have made. Departments concerned should further improve their work procedures, and enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the detection, transportation, treatment, quarantine and hospital-based observation for inbound personnel with cutting-edge facilities and technologies, so as to resolutely contain imported cases at the ports of entry, said Yin. Calling for efforts to screen weaknesses in epidemic prevention and control by drawing inferences from other cases, Yin underscored that relevant departments should make every attempt to focus on key points, tackle difficulties and strengthen weaknesses, move the epidemic prevention and control threshold ahead, intensify follow-up prevention and control measures, and ensure the closed-loop management measures from customs to households. Efforts should be made to further enhance communication, coordination, information sharing and cooperation, Yin underlined, all regions in Sichuan, especially Chengdu, as the port of entry, should take the initiative to prevent imported cases, and departments and units concerned should actively support and cooperate with each other to pool strengths for prevention of imported cases. Stressing the need to increase the popularization of knowledge on epidemic prevention and control, Yin said that epidemic-related information should be timely released to respond to people's concerns. More care should be given to workers and medical staff at the frontline to effectively protect them from infection, Yin added.

Zhang Yan, Secretary General of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and heads of relevant provincial departments were among the inspection team.
