The Consulate General of Germany in Chengdu Holds a Reception to Celebrate the German Unity Day

  On October 22, the Consulate General of Germany in Chengdu held a reception to celebrate German Unity Day. Li Yunze, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the reception and expressed greetings to the Consulate General of Germany in Chengdu and all German friends in Sichuan.

  Li Yunze stressed in his speech that this year marks the 30th anniversary of German reunification. In the past 30 years, Sino-German relations have made great progress. Thanks to the cordial bilateral ties, practical exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Germany have achieved remarkable results. Since the beginning of this year, the practical cooperation between Sichuan and Germany has been further developed in the joint epidemic prevention and control. In the most difficult time when Sichuan fought against the epidemic, the German government and German people expressed their support and condolences to Sichuan. At present, the development of Sichuan reaches a new historical starting point. It is moving from a hinterland to an open frontier, and embracing the Belt and Road Initiative, a new round of China Western Development, Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and other strategic opportunities. Sichuan is ready to work with Germany to deepen the results of the meetings between the leaders of both parties, strengthen exchanges between local governments, bring closer to economic and trade exchanges and expand bilateral investment, and support Sichuan and German enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to strengthen exchanges and cooperation. It is hoped that the Consulate General of Germany in Chengdu will continue to play a role of bridge in Sichuan-German exchanges and cooperation, help Sichuan strengthen all-round exchanges and cooperation with Germany, support more regions and cities of the two sides to establish friendly relations, and work together to create a mutually beneficial and win-win future.

  Wolfgang Rudischhauser, Consul General of Germany in Chengdu, said that Germany will continue to cooperate with Sichuan, Chengdu and other provinces and cities in southwest China to overcome all kinds of difficulties and establish close, stable and profound relations between China and Germany, even between China and Europe.
