On January 10, under the supervision of Chengdu Customs and Sichuan Medical Products Administration, Sichuan's first batch of about 16,500 bottles of imported Human Albumin (trade name: octapharma) was successfully cleared from the ICCS at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. The import of this batch of clinical biological products marked the successful clearance of Sichuan's first batch of imported biological products.

　　Produced in Germany, the biological products arrived at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport on January 9. In order to implement the measures of the State Council, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province to improve the port business environment and facilitate cross-border trade, Chengdu Customs and Sichuan Medical Products Administration issued the Application for Entry-Exit Health Quarantine of Special Articles, the Drug Import Customs Clearance and the Port Inspection Notification in accordance with the regulations.

　　In 2003, Chengdu was designated as one of the first batch of drug import port cities, which was empowered to import and clear chemicals and Chinese medicinal materials, but not allowed to clear biological products with relatively special requirements. On the basis of Sichuan's improved drug administration ability and on-site inspection and evaluation organized by the National Medical Products Administration, the National Medical Products Administration issued a notice on changing the relevant agencies of Chengdu's drug port on September 30, 2019, empowering Sichuan Medical Products Administration to administrate the customs clearance and filing of drugs (including biological products) at Chengdu Port, and empowering Sichuan Institute of Food and Drug Control to undertake the drug inspection at Chengdu Port. Chengdu's approved as the city with entry qualification for biological products made it the fifth city for biological product import in China, after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing, marking one major achievement of Sichuan in promoting the reform of the pilot free trade zone.
