On September 4, Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of Sichuan Province, met Paul Michael Romer, a co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan province.
Yin Li welcomed Paul to attend the Summit Forum on Internal Drivers of Enterprises held in Sichuan, and introduced the economic and social development in Sichuan. While Paul expressed appreciation for the achievements made in Sichuan's economic development in recent years. The two sides discussed the exploration and use of innovative tools to bring together enterprises in different countries and regions to implement more mutually beneficial and win-win projects to better promote economic development and improve the living standards of locals. Meanwhile, they also exchanged views on expanding inland opening, scientific and technological disaster prevention and mitigation, etc.
Wang Fengchao, member of the leading party group of the provincial government and Chairman of Sichuan Development Holding Co., Ltd., and Zhang Shan, Secretary-General of Sichuan Provincial People's Government also attended the meeting.
