On September 2, Yin Li, deputy secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and governor of Sichuan Province, presided over the 32nd Executive Meeting of the People's Government of Sichuan Province. At the meeting, the spirit of the Fifth Meeting of the Central Finance and Economics Committee and the Recent Executive Meeting of the State Council was conveyed and studied. Meanwhile, issues concerning province-wide live pig production, steady supply and pricing of pork, and protection of enterprise rights and interests were discussed, with work deployments made accordingly.        

　　The meeting conveyed and learned the spirit of the national video and telephone conference on stabilizing live pig production and ensuring market supply, analyzed the current pork supply and demand situation in Sichuan Province, and further arranged the deployment of the province-wide work on stabilizing live pig production and steady supply and pricing of pork. The meeting stressed that stabilizing live pig production and ensuring pork supply are of great concern to the basic life of the broad masses and the overall social situation. All relevant departments in all parts of the province should attach great importance to this issue, take prompt and effective measures to implement and improve the emergency plan, pay close attention to various key tasks, ensure the needs of the masses and maintain economic and social stability. First, we must firmly stabilize live pig production, fight the battle against African swine fever, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of live pig industry in the whole province to scale, standardization and integration of breeding, slaughter and cold chain logistics, and better adapt to the requirements of live pig breeding under the new situation. Second, we must strengthen the regulation, do everything possible to ensure the supply of pork, reinforce the link between production and marketing of pork market, reasonably arrange the reserved meat to be put on the market, actively import pork products and supply substitutes. For key periods and focus groups, we should further refine and implement targeted emergency measures to ensure the continuous supply of pork. Third, all parties should work in a concerted manner. Provincial departments should strengthen work coordination, urge all localities to strictly implement the "vegetable-basket" mayor responsibility system, strengthen market supervision and crack down on illegal acts such as price gouging. At the same time, we need to release market information, respond to social concerns in a timely manner, and stabilize market expectations.  Fourth, all departments at all levels should bear the responsibility in an efficient manner, and take practical measures based on the actual situation to ensure that the policies and measures of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and the People's Government of Sichuan Province are fully implemented and good results can be reaped.

　　Prior to the start of this executive meeting, Cui Peng, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher of Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, CAS explained the relevant contents of natural disaster prevention and control in the planning and construction of Sichuan-Tibet Railway.
