The Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation Executive Chiefs Joint Meeting took place on September 6 in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with top officials from eight provinces and one autonomous region including Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan, as well as two special administrative regions including Hong Kong, and Macao in attendance. Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of Sichuan Province, attended the meeting.

　　The meeting agreed on the following annual priorities for Pan-pearl River Delta regional cooperation. They will continue to push forward the Pan-pearl River Delta region to keep in alignment with the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They will accelerate the construction of inter-provincial railways and expressways, and jointly build international aviation hubs, and main and tributary waterways to strengthen connectivity, and jointly build new land-sea channels in the West. They will guide the orderly transfer and undertaking of industries, strengthen in-depth cooperation and integration of industries, and speed up the construction of regional coordinated industrial systems and innovation networks. They will cooperate in the development of high-quality tourist routes in the Pan-Pearl region to jointly maintain the tourism market order and improve the quality of tourism services. They will expedite the establishment of an electronic port information platform to simplify customs clearance procedures, explore the establishment of a credit cooperation mechanism, and constantly improve the unified system of regional market rules within this region. They will also establish and improve the compensation mechanism for watershed ecological protection, promote joint prevention and control of environmental pollution and ecological damage, and jointly strengthen regional ecological environment protection.

　　The meeting decided that the 2020 Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Cooperation Executive Chiefs Joint Meeting will be undertaken by the People's Government of Hainan Province, and the 13th Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Co-operation and Development Forum and Trade Fair will be jointly hosted by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the People's Government of Hunan Province.

　　Before the meeting, Lu Xinshe, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Chen Wu, Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region met with the administrative heads of different regions present at the meeting. Before and after the meeting, Yin Li met with Chen Wu. The two sides exchanged views on building a new land-sea corridor in the west of China, deepening industrial cooperation of parks, and improving trade and logistics. When meeting with Governor Ma Xingrui of Guangdong Province, the two sides exchanged views on deepening the cooperation between the East and the West in poverty alleviation, keeping in line with the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as promoting cooperation in characteristic and advantageous industries and social undertakings for people's livelihood. In addition, Yin Li also met with Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the two sides exchanged views on promoting youth exchanges, pushing forward cooperation in airport operation and management, and strengthening cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship. Yin also met with Macau's Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lionel Leong Vai Tac. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cultural and tourism cooperation, strengthening airline and airport cooperation, and jointly promoting the development of traditional Chinese medicine industry.
