On the afternoon of August 28, 2019, People’s Government of Sichuan Province and Tsinghua University signed an agreement on comprehensively deepening strategic cooperation. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government met with Chen Xu, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Tsinghua University, attending the ceremony of signing the agreement together.

　　At the meeting, Peng Qinghua, Yin Li and Chen Xu exchanged views on implementing the strategic cooperation agreement, further strengthening strategic decision-making and consultation cooperation, carrying out collaborative developments in major science and technology projects, accelerating the transformation and application of science and technology achievements and promoting the exchange of cadres and talents together, etc.

　　At the signing ceremony, Wang Zhengpu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Provincial Committee and Head of Organization Department of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, introduced the mutual cooperation. Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and Xu Qinghong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Tsinghua University signed the agreement on comprehensively deepening strategic cooperation on behalf of each side.

　　According to the agreement, the both sides will strengthen the development of Tsinghua-Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, converge more national major science and technology infrastructure and special projects by promotion, jointly build key manufacturing-study-research cooperation platforms, deepen cooperation on cadres and talents’ exchange and training to better support Sichuan to accelerate the implementation of “one trunk with more branches” strategy for development and become a leading province in innovation-driven development and assist Tsinghua university to deepen comprehensive reforms to create a world-class university based on the successful completions of all tasks in 2014 Tsinghua-Sichuan strategic cooperation agreements.

　　Heads of relevant departments under direct supervision of Sichuan Province and heads of related Schools and Departments of Tsinghua University attended the meeting and the signing ceremony.
