On August 28, 2019, the First Intellectual Sports Games of Sichuan Province concluded in Suining City. By taking “converge intelligence to promote Sichuan” as the theme, the Games started from July 7, 2019 with 6 big competitions, including bridge, go, chess, international chess, draught, gobang and 88 small competitions. More than 1400 athletes from 21 cities (states), composed of 63 competition teams, participated in the Games.

　　The Games were respectively held in Suining City where the opening and closing ceremonies as well as the competitions of bridge and go were held and Deyang City where the competitions of chess, international chess, draught and gobang were host. A grand total of 171 gold medals were rewarded to the champions.

　　On the closing ceremony, Suining City handed over the flag of Games to Guangyuan City where the Second Intellectual Games of Sichuan Province will be held in 2023.

　　Organized by Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Sports, the Games were expected to highlight comprehensive values and multiple functions of intellectual sports to promote the development of chess and card sports and improve the competitive level in Sichuan Province.
