On July 16, Chengdu Customs District released Sichuan Province's foreign trade data for the first half this year. Over the past six months, the province's total import and export value of goods was RMB 303.3 billion, up 21.9% year on year, well above the national overall level of 3.9% in the same period. Specifically, the value of exports was RMB 169.64 billion, up 27.3% year on year and that of imports was RMB 133.66 billion, up 15.7% year on year.
A relevant official of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce said that in the first half of the year, the province's foreign trade continued to maintain a steady growth, ranking 10th nationwide with exports and imports finishing in the 9th and 10th place respectively, maintaining its best ranking nationwide for four consecutive months.
In the period, the total value of trade between Sichuan and other countries along the Belt and Road reached RMB 81.87 billion, up 13.1% year on year.
