The Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics recently jointly issued the Implementation Plan for the Protection and Inheritance of Ancient Shu Civilization, and set up development goals such establishing a relatively complete system for the protection and inheritance, and influence expansion of ancient civilizations in 2025. Among them, the goal of accelerating to promote ancient Shu civilization sites (Sanxingdui, Jinsha) to declare the World Cultural Heritage has made it into the plan.

　　The Implementation Plan proposed eight main tasks: establishing an academic research system for ancient civilizations, intensifying efforts in archaeological investigations and excavation research, strengthening the protection and display of important sites, enhancing the interpretation and display of ancient civilizations in museums, strengthening efforts to build scientific research institutions and talent teams, promoting foreign cooperation and exchanges in the fields of ancient civilization, innovating ways for thespread of ancient civilizations, and promoting the integration and development of ancient civilizations.

　　The plan proposed to establish the "Academic Center for the Protection and Inheritance of Ancient Civilizations", and to demonstrate the openness and uniqueness of the ancient civilizations and their important role in constructing the pluralistic integrated pattern of the origin and development of Chinese civilizationthrough a series of studies, and to comprehensively enhance the international influence of studies on ancient civilizations. It urged us to continue to increase the systematic investigation and excavation of the Sanxingdui site and its surrounding sites, as well as the investigation and excavation of many sites such as the Baodun site and the Jinsha site in Chengdu Plain. In terms of site protection, exhibition and utilization, we should rely on Sanxingdui to build a national demonstration zone for the protection and utilization of cultural relics, open a new pavilionin Sanxingdui Museum and promote the joint application of Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites. It is necessary to launch a batch of high-quality exhibitions of ancient Shu civilizations and Bashu cultures, and introduce exhibitions of worldancient cultural relics to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with other ancient civilizations. We should encourage international partners to pitch in in protecting archaeological and cultural relics and in promoting ancient civilizations in various ways.

　　In the Plan, the integration and development of ancient civilizations and cultural tourism is also a major focus. The plan called us to prepare development plans for ancient civilization and cultural tourism, launch a number of ancient and civilized tourism boutique routes, develop ancient and civilized cultural tourism products, introduce ancient and civilized tourism and performing arts with distinctive historical and cultural characteristics and strong market appeal, and to build brands of international influence.
