From April 10th to 12th, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of People’s Government of Sichuan Province, paid an exchange visit to Spain with a delegation.

　　Sichuan Province and Castilla La Mancha Autonomous Region are engaged by friendly cooperations. In attending the Sichuan Promotion Conference, Mr. Yin Li said that China and Spain enjoin a long history of exchanges. More than 2,000 years ago, the ancient land-based Silk Road linked the two sides together. In November 2018, President Xi Jinping visited Spain and created a new era of Sino-Western relations. The pragmatic cooperation and development of Sichuan and Castilla La Mancha Autonomous Region ushered in a new era. Sichuan adheres to the policy of opening-up to the outside world and is striving to build a high-level inland free trade pilot zone and accelerate the development of five pillar industries and digital economy of electronic information, equipment manufacturing, food and beverage, advanced materials, energy and chemical industry, and contains huge investment opportunities and vast market spaces. It is hoped that relevant institutions and enterprises in Spain will focus on key areas such as economy, trade, agriculture and cultural tourism, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and achieve mutual beneficial and win-win development. Representatives of Spanish institutions and enterprises said that against the backdrop of the continuous consolidation and expansion of friendly relations between China and the West, they are willing to further close cooperation in the areas of economic and trade investment, cultural tourism, science and technology education, personnel training, etc., and promote the friendly cooperation between the two sides to a higher level. At the meeting, the Sichuan Provincial Ministry of Culture and Tourism signed a memorandum of understanding on economic, business and tourism exchanges with the Ministry of Economy, Enterprise and Employment of the Castilla La Mancha Autonomous Region, and Dujiangyan City signed with Toledo, the capital of the Castilla-La Mancha Autonomous Region, anagreement for international friendly partnership. More than 100 representatives from the Spanish business community attended the presentation.

　　Mr. Yin Li met with Mr. Marotto, Spanish Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism,Mr. Valenzuela, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Garcia,President of Castilla La Mancha. He investigated the Barcelona Exhibition Center, Dorothy Group, and promoted in-depth cooperationbetween Sichuan and Spain in local exchanges, economic and trade investment, automobile manufacturing, transportation and logistics, new energy, agricultural technology, tourism, exhibitions, beverages and food.

　　During the visit, Mr. Yin Li met with Manuel Butler Hart, Executive Director of the United Nations World Tourism Organization in Madrid. The two of them exchanged views on consolidating and developing good relations between Sichuan and the United Nations World Tourism Organization, and on further deepening tourism cooperation and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the tourism industry. They stated their focus on jointly building an international tourism exchange and cooperation platform throughactive communicationto promote the exchanges between Sichuan and world tourism, and on bringing about the high-quality and high-level development of the tourism industry.

　　Mr. Yin Li also met with Mr. Lu Fan, the Chinese Ambassador to Spain, and Ms. Lin Nan, Consul General in Barcelona.
