| Sichuan Province Is to Guarantee the Supply of Major Agricultural Products like Grain This Year |

On March 13th, the site conference for spring plowing and high-standard farmland construction in Sichuan was held in Dayi County. It was proposed that Sichuan will guarantee the supply of major agricultural products such as grain and strive to raisethe arable area for national high-quality rice to 9.5 million mu this year.
This year, the spring ploughing of Sichuan will be guided by the construction of modern agricultural parks and revolve around the strategic thinking of building the “10+3” industrial system of Sichuan agriculture, securing food production, holding unto the strategic bottom line, and strengthening areas of weaknessesfor “the production of graingenerated by farmland”. We will finish the task of delineating 46.2 million mu for the “two areas”, cultivate a vast stretches of 2 million mu demonstration zones for the high-quality and high-efficient green production of grain and oil. Sichuan is also toincrease the moderately-sized grain operation area by 5% from last year. At the same time, Sichuan will closely follow the market demand, adjust the planting mix, strengthen the construction of 90 key food production counties, and develop high-qualityand characteristic agricultural products to meet the diversifiedneedsfor the upgrading of consumption mix. In addition, Sichuan will also strengthen the construction of modern parks and form complete industrial chains for breeding, processing, circulation, sales and the like.
At the conference, it was also made clear that Sichuan will strengthen the construction of agricultural mechanization, give play to thesubsidy policyfor national agricultural machinery purchase, and create a fully mechanized demonstration county and a demonstration cityfor overall promotion.
