What is the digital development level of Sichuan's society and economy? On October 29, at the Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Chengdu Summit held in Chengdu, Tencent Research Institute jointly released the Digital Sichuan Index Report (2019) with Tencent Cloud. According to the report, Sichuan's digital index ranked first in the west of China, with Chengdu ranked fifth in the Digital China Index Report (2019), after Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

　　The report mentioned that Sichuan ranked first in the west in the index rankings of digital life, digital industry, digital culture and digital government affairs, with the digital industry index taking the lead. Specific to digital industry, Sichuan had an excellent digital performance in consumer-driven industries such as tourism, commercial services, transportation, cultural entertainment, retail, catering and accommodation. Specific to cities, Chengdu ranked fifth in China, but the gap between Chengdu and Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen is still obvious, the digital industry index lags far behind especially.

　　During the summit, Tencent reached cooperation with relevant parties in Chengdu, becoming the official partner of the 31st Summer Universiade 2021 which will be held in Chengdu, so as to promote the intelligent upgrading of the Universiade. Specifically, Tencent will fully participate in the basic information construction of the Universiade, provide intelligent security services, build smart venues and smart universiade village, and provide the Universiade with transportation big data, competition system, control center and various comprehensive application service systems covering "food, hospitality, travel, visit, shopping and entertaining".
