| Sichuan Provincial Party Committee Convened a Meeting of the Standing Committee |

On the afternoon of January 7th, the provincial party committee held a meeting of the Standing Committee to convey the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the democratic consultation meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC, and the general instructions of General Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, to promote the guiding principles of the Central Rural Work Conference, to study the experience of Zhejiang “Millions of Projects” for the comprehensive promotion of the Rural Environment Remediation Conference, and to convey the relevant instructions of the National Poverty Alleviation and Development Work Conference.Opinions regarding implementation of the province were also studied. Mr. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
In the meeting, officials pointed out that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech delivered at the democratic consultation meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPCbears a comprehensive view and rich connotation. It is not only an important follow-up to the comprehensive enhancement of party construction fora new era, but also an ideological lead for the leadership team, party members and leading cadres to improve their own capacities. It has further pointed out the direction and provided a principle for us to abide by in striving for the great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. Party organizations at all levels in the province and the majority of party members and cadres must study to understand, and match their thoughts and actions with the spirit of the central government. We will strengthen our minds with theories, and with Xi Jinping Thought for a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. We willgrasp the position, viewpoints and methods of Marxist that govern the whole process to solve the practical problems of transforming the objective world and the subjective world, and work hard to learn more about this theory. We must implement the "two upholds", further strengthen political responsibility, maintain political power, gain control of the political direction, and improve political integrity. We will always maintain a high degree of ideological and political action with the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core. We will underpin the democratic centralism, combine the promotion of inner-party democracy withstrict implementation, so as to continuously carry outsound, people-oriented, and law-based decisions. We will continue to devote efforts to change the work conduct, strictly implement the spirit of the eight central regulations and its implementation rules, and the ten regulations of the provincial party committee and the provincial government and its implementation rules to prevent invisible variation and rebound of the practice of formalities for formalities’ sake, bureaucratism, hedonism, and extravagance. We should have the courage to take responsibility, develop the skills to address difficulties, forge ahead with determination and relentless perseverance, he bold enough tobrave risks, and strive for better achievements. That is how we can promote the implementation of the major policies and decisions of Party Central Committee in Sichuan.
In the meeting,requirements were made regarding the implementation of the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, of Premier Li Keqiang and the deployments of the Central Rural Work Conference. Emphasis should be placed on developing agriculture and rural areas, the in-depth implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and on accelerating the great leap from a major agricultural province to a strong agricultural province. We will cultivate and develop rural industries, take the supply-sidestructural reform of agriculture as the main line, and focus on building modernsystems for agricultural industry, production, and operation. We will do a good job in improvingtheenvironment of rural settlements, speed up the construction of “beautiful Sichuan with livable rural areas”, and coordinate the tasks of rural toilet revolution, domestic garbage and sewage treatment. We will work tostrengthen the areas of weaknesses of rural infrastructure construction. We have the confidence in alleviating poverty with hard work and promote housing, industry, employment, education, medical care, infrastructure and other key actions to achieve high-quality poverty alleviation and sustainable poverty alleviation.
