The First South Asia-China Youth Leadership Exchange for Was Held in Sichuan

  On September 17th, the first South Asia-China Youth Leadership Exchange was held in Chengdu. It was sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and undertook by the Sichuan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. 33 young leaders from Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and China will engage in week-long exchange activities in Sichuan Province.

  Themed on “convergence of intellectuals in South Asia and China to inspire the youth”, this exchange event will center on employment and entrepreneurship that are of general concern to the young people, so as to enhance the understanding and friendship between the youth in China and South Asian. Mi Fu, a student from the Maldives, is studying Chinese at Yangzhou Polytechnic College. He said that "Sichuan is endowed with profound history and I am looking forward to learning more about Sichuan's history and culture in the following activities."

  We have learnt that young leaders will travel to Ya'an City and Pengshan District of Meishan City to see giant pandas, visit the practice base for innovation and entrepreneurship of college students, listen to the "World and Sichuan Lecture Hall", and experience Chinese traditional cultures such as tea art and paper-cutting in the next week. The responsible person of the Sichuan Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries hoped that the first South Asia-China Youth Leadership Exchange will erect a bridge for those who want to learn more about Sichuan and draw closer of the youth on the two sides.
