On September 17th, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of People’s Government of Sichuan Province, met with Mr. Rawan Eddieleysson, President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other representatives attending the 9th Roundtable Conference for China (Sichuan)-South Asia Economic and Trade Cooperation.

　　Mr. Yin Li welcomed Mr. Rawan Eddieleysson and his delegations to attend the Roundtable Conference in Sichuan. He said that China is connected with the South Asian countries by mountains and rivers, and that the two sides facing each other across the sea have long been close neighbors. The “Belt and Road Initiative” put forward by President Xi Jinping has been warmly accepted by the South Asian countries. Sichuan is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with local governments and enterprises in South Asia, and strive to transform the opportunities of “Belt and Road” construction into a driving force for common development, thus benefiting the peoples in a more efficient way.

　　Mr. Rawan Eddieleysson and other guests said that the exchanges between South Asian countries and China have deep historical and practical foundations, and such exchanges have ushered in new development opportunities under the framework of the “Belt and Road” construction. We warmly welcome enterprises in Sichuan to invest in South Asia to share opportunities, develop resources, and expand cooperation, so as to achieve mutual-beneficial and win-win development.
