By 2020, Sichuan Province will conclude the supplementary investigation of agricultural germplasm resources such as crops, livestock, poultry, fishery, silkworms, bees, mulberries, medicines, fruits, teas, greens and grass, as well as the general survey of forest germplasm resources. By 2025, a number of agroforestry germplasm resource conservation centers featuring largescale collection, fine management, modern equipment, and personnel specialization will be built, and a provincial germplasm resource information management system will be established. By 2035, Sichuan will establish a system for the conservation and utilization of germplasm resources with clear responsibilities, advanced methods, standardized regulation, and shared integration. 　　The agroforestry germplasm resources are the core strategic resources, and the irreplaceable material basis for the original innovation and sustainable development of agroforestry science and technology. Sichuan, as one of the provinces endowed with rich agroforestry germplasm resources, are still confronted with problems such as the scattering of the main conservation body, low capital investment, poor storage conditions, fragmentation of protection and utilization work, and inactivation or extinction dangers facing some resources.
　　
　　We will strive to conclude the investigation into the status quo of distribution, conservation and utilization of agroforestry germplasm resources in about 2 years. Meanwhile, we will prepare a plan for conservation and utilization, study and formulate evaluation indicators and grade standards, and improve the list for resources in urgent need of protection. We are to establish gene banks for three major crops of wheat, rice and corn in Sichuan Agricultural University, and set up gene banks for other crops in the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, improve (extend) gene banks for livestock, poultry and aquatic products by means of Longquanyi Base of the Sichuan Provincial Animal Husbandry Station. We will establish gene banks for silkworms and mulberries with the help of Nanchong Base of the Institute of Sericulture, Sichuan Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, build an agroforestry germplasm resources protection system with the support of the national & provincial agroforestry germplasm resources, bases of improved varieties and relevant scientific research units, as well as construct vitro protection facilities and core gene banks for germplasm resources.

　　We will include the expenditure for the conservation and general survey of agroforestry germplasm resources into our financial budget, encourage enterprises, scientific research institutions, public welfare organizations to develop and exploit this opportunity by credit and social funds, establish and protect the mechanism for eco-compensation, and promote listed transactions or compensated usage of the technological achievements transformed by germplasm resources related technologies. Meanwhile, we are to erect a big data sharing platform for germplasm resources in the province, so as to realize information connectivity and resource sharing. And an entry-exit quarantine and inspection system will be introduced.
