Mr. Yin Li Meeting with Mr. Platov Governor of Surxondaryo Region in Uzbekistan

  On July 31st, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, met with Platov, Governor of Surxondaryo Region in Uzbekistan, and his delegation in Chengdu.

  Mr. Yin Li welcomed Mr. Platov and his delegation to visit Sichuan and attend the Forum on Sichuan-Surxondaryo Region Economic and Trade Cooperation. He said that Uzbekistan was an important country along the ancient Silk Road and one of the founding members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Against the backdrop of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, the cooperation between Sichuan and Surxondaryo Region assumed broad prospects. He hoped that the two sides would take this Economic and Trade Forum as an opportunity to further deepen and expand the friendly cooperation between the people and enterprises of the two places, and strengthen exchanges in cultural tourism to bring about closer friendships and in-depth economic and trade cooperation, thus securing win-win development for both sides.

  Mr. Platov extended his congratulations on Sichuan’s achievements in recent years. He remarked that Surxondaryo Region valued exchanges and cooperation with Sichuan and warmly welcomed enterprises in Sichuan to bring in investment. It was our common aspiration that this forum would effectively promote the in-depth exchanges between enterprises in the two places, providing opportunities for cooperation to share the potentials of “One Belt, One Road Initiative”.

  Mr. Oripov, deputy governor of Surxondaryo Region, and Mr. Luo Qiang, Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, also attended the meeting.
