Youth of Volunteers in the Chinese dream. On July 16, the Commencement Ceremony of the 2018 Sichuan University Student Volunteer Service Western Region Program was held at Chengdu Normal University. More than 1,200 volunteers have been recruited for the Program this year, and 352 of them will go to 45 poverty-stricken counties to provide services.

　　Since 2003, Sichuan Province has recruited more than 31,000 graduates from nearly 400 colleges and universities across the country for the Western Region Program. Their services involve education, support for agriculture, medical support, grassroots social management, poverty alleviation and other economic and social construction.

　　This year’s Program has been given special responsibilities and missions. According to the employment of the Opinions on Implementing the Talent Revitalization Project in Intensive Poverty-stricken Counties, our province shall implement the Western Sichuan Volunteer Service Program from this year to 2020. Each year, more than 300 volunteers of the Western Region Program will be dispatched to intensive poverty-stricken counties to address the lack of talents in these areas of our province.
