Updated:2018.06.20

At the 2nd China-CEEC Arts Cooperation Forum held in Chengdu on June 13th, the Chengdu Declaration of China-CEEC Arts Cooperation was released, proposing to build Chengdu into a “16+1” fulcrum city of art cooperation.

Chengdu Declaration points out that Chengdu has a long history of more than 2,600 years with splendid culture and is an important node city of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. It is currently working hard to develop its culture of “the land of abundance” and build itself into a culturally famous city in the world. The declaration proposes that with the help of this forum, relying on the profound historical background and unique human resources of Chengdu, China will vigorously promote in-depth exchanges and pragmatic cooperation with 16 countries of Eastern and Central European arts institutions, art schools, festivals as well as groups of artists and individuals, so as to build Chengdu into a fulcrum city for “16+1” art cooperation.

At the forum, the “China-CEEC Youth Art Talents Training and Practice Center” locates in Sichuan Conservatory of Music and regularly carry out art talent training, contemporary art creation exchanges and other activities; and “China-CEEC Cultural and Creative Industries Exchanges and Cooperation Center” will be located at Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, committed to creating a platform for fostering the development of cultural and creative industries and promoting cultural trade.

In the forum, a results-sharing & fair and an art management and negotiation meeting were held for the first time, where a total of 170 intentional cooperation projects were formed. Among them, Chengdu New East Fair Co., Ltd. has reached a preliminary cooperation agreement with the Slovak International Cultural Cooperation Center which will participate in Chengdu Creative Design Week in 2019. Chengdu Art Theatre Co., Ltd. and Lithuania have established communication channels for cultural exchanges and commercial performances in the arts of opera, ballet, dance drama, music, etc. Both parties will jointly create and perform in related literary and artistic works in both countries.
