On the afternoon of May 8, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, met with Toshihiro Nikai, Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan in Tokyo.
Mr. Yin Li, on behalf of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and the Sichuan people, expressed his gratitude for Mr. Toshihiro Nikai promoting Japan’s exchanges and cooperation with Sichuan Province in various aspects, as well as Japan’s earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction of the “5•12” Wenchuan Earthquake. Mr. Yin Li gave a brief introduction of Sichuan’s economic and social development and the revitalization of the disaster-stricken area in recent years. He also expressed blessings for Japan’s economic development and the people’s well-being. Under the background of the peaceful development of Sino-Japanese relations, he hopes to further strengthen the comprehensive cooperation between Sichuan and Japan, actively carry out industrial cooperation, strengthen non-governmental exchanges, expand cooperation areas, and realize win-win cooperation in a wider range.
Toshihiro Nikai paid tribute to the achievements in the relief, reconstruction after disasters, and the economic and social development in Sichuan of the “5•12” Wenchuan Earthquake. He looked forward to visiting Sichuan again soon and stated that he would actively promote relevant parties in Japan to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Sichuan in in various fields such as economic and trade, culture, disaster prevention and disaster reduction. He wished that the 3rd China-Japan Governor Forum be successfully held in Sapporo to promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
On the same day, Mr. Yin Li also attended the China (Sichuan)-Tokyo Japanese-funded Enterprise Investment Conference, where he introduced the investment and development environment in Sichuan to relevant Japanese organizations and companies, and met with kobayashi Yasuhito, Vice President of Toyota Motor Corporation.
