Gu Hongsong, the spokesman and deputy director of the Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission introduced that in 2017, our province's electronic information industry has grew by more than 15%, whose main business income has reached nearly 800 billion yuan, ranking the first in the central and western regions and seventh in the whole country.

　　The added value of above-scale electronic manufacturing and software industry accounted for over 15% of that of all industries in the whole province, proving that the electronic information industry is "Sichuan's first pillar industry".

　　Pacesetters of "Billions and Trillions Projects" releasing more large-scale effect

　　"Billions and Trillions Projects" is a new goal of industrial development in Sichuan this year. Its target is very clear: creating more enterprises worthy millions of yuan, industries billions and clusters trillions to accelerate the pace of building an economically strong province. To create clusters worthy trillions of yuan, the electronic information industry is the most basic and potential one.

　　According to the plan, the revenue from the main business of Sichuan's electronic information industry will reach 1.3 trillion yuan by 2020. In the Chengdu Plain Economic Zone, with the operation of major projects such as the 6th generation of AMOLED production line of BOE, the 8.6-generation LCD panel of China Electronics Co., Ltd. and the high-end display industry in Shun Lee (Renshou), it is estimated that the operating income of main business in 2020 will reach 100 billion yuan.

Officials of the Provincial Economy and Information Technology Commission introduced that they were software and information service industry, information security industry, integrated circuit industry, new display industry, intelligent terminal industry and future digital economy.

　　Cheng Nan, deputy director of CCID Think Tank and Institute of Planning and Research, pointed out that the electronic information industry is a leading, basic and strategic industry in China. However, some key links are controlled by others. China's electronic information industry lacks chips and screens, and "made in China" lacks heart and soul.

　　In January 28, China Electronics Chengdu Panda G8.6 LCD panel production line project was established and officially operate, which is the first one with fully autonomous construction and operation as well as the 8K ultra-high resolution television market LCD panel production line.

　　For integrated circuit industry, Sichuan is also heading for the forefront and high end, bringing together the Tsinghua Group Chengdu International City, the Global Foundry’s 12-inch wafer, China Electronics Group Chengdu Core Valley, the southwest platform "core space" of the national integrated circuit public service platform and other major projects.

　　Recently, China National Electronic Science and Technology Network Information Security Co., Ltd., known as a national team in network information security, won the first network information security service contract from central SOEs. In terms of information security industry, Sichuan's goal is that the main business income will reach 110 billion yuan by 2020.
