On November 20th, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of People’s Government of Sichuan Province, met with Mr. Caraballo, Intendant of the Department of Paysandú of the Republic of Uruguay, and his delegation in Chengdu City of Sichuan Province.

　　Mr. Yin Li welcomed Mr. Caraballo and his delegation and introduced them the economic and social development conditions of Sichuan. He said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uruguay. Uruguay is the first South American country in the Southern Market to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the “Belt and Road Initiative” with China. Against the backdrop of the continuous development of Sino- Uruguay relations, Sichuan hopes to work together with Paysandú to enhance our cooperation in agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism, sports and education, in an effort to achieve win-win development.

　　Mr. Caraballo said that Paysandú and Sichuan share vast potentials for cooperation and Paysandú is willing to serve as a bridge for Sichuan to foray into the market of South America. We will make determined efforts to participate in the construction of the “Belt and Road”, promote cooperation between our enterprises and exchanges among our people, so as to secure new breakthroughs in our friendly relations.
