On October 31st, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of People’s Government of Sichuan Province, met with Ms. McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Canada, and her delegation in Chengdu of Sichuan Province.

　　Mr. Yin Li expressed his sincere welcome to Ms. McKenna on her visit to Sichuan. He said that Sichuan is an important water source conservation area in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River in China. It boasts rich animal and plant resources and clean energy. Sichuan is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change as well as with relevant parties in the fields of ecological environment protection, biodiversity conservation, national park construction and clean energy development. In this way, we could jointly address the challenges brought about by climate changes, thus promoting sustainable growth and green development. .

　　Ms. McKenna said that Sichuan, with a good ecology, has delivered fruitful results in environmental protection. She hoped to cooperate more with Sichuan in the future to promote mutual learning and jointly improve our ecological protection capacity, so as to foster a sound environment for future generations.
