On October 26th, Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC, Governor of People’s Government of Sichuan Province, met with Mr. Danielson, Governor of the Vastra Gotland Province of Sweden, in Chengdu of Sichuan Province.

　　Mr. Yin Li welcomed Mr. Danielson and his delegations to Sichuan and acquainted them with the economic and social conditions of Sichuan. He said that Sichuan is an inland province in western China with a large population, a wide geographical area and multi-ethnic inhabitants. In recent years, the economy of Sichuan has experienced rapid growth, contributing to a harmonious and stable society. Sichuan is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Vastra Gotland Province in many fields, such as manufacturing, ecological protection, scientific research and education, and cultural tourism so as to enhance the friendly ties between our peoples and promote win-win development.

　　Mr. Danielson said that Sichuan boasts a long history and culture with rapid economic and social development, thus the Vastra Gotland Province could see a rosy prospect of cooperation with Sichuan. He believed that this visit would serve as the starting point for closer and higher level cooperation between the two provinces in the future.
