The reporter learned from People's Bank of China Chengdu Branch that as of the end of December 2017, Sichuan Province had conducted cross-border RMB transactions with 57 countries and regions along "Belt and Road", with cross-border RMB settlement totaling 62.5 billion yuan. Among it, the settlement in 2017 reached 10.5 billion yuan with an increase of 10.5% over the same period of last year, accounting for 5.3% of the total in the province.

　　Zeng Hao, deputy director of the Monetary and Credit Bureau of People's Bank of China ChenguBranch, introduced that most countries along "Belt and Road" are developing countries, putting higher demands on the financing and risk prevention and controlling capabilities of China's "going global" enterprises.People's Bank of China Chengdu Branch has instructed banks and enterprises to launch cross-border RMB innovation products within the existing policy framework, which cleared the policy barriers for related businesses.

　　In addition, People's Bank of ChinaChengdu Branch and State Administration of Foreign Exchange Sichuan Branch issued Guidance on Financial Support for the Construction of China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone,promoting RMB to be a main currency for cross-border investment pricing and settlementbetween Sichuan and countries along"Belt and Road", so as to explore the establishment of Chengdu into a cross-border RMB settlement center in the South Silk Road and comprehensively promote the functional construction of cross-border RMB settlement center.

　　Statistics shows that as of the end of last year, Sichuan Province has successfully opened 14 cross-border two-way RMB pools for transnational enterprises and groups. The cross-border RMB settlement reached nearly 600 billion yuan and its business covered nearly 4,000 enterprises. 536 branches of 46 commercial banks have been involved in cross-border RMB business concerning 1,739 foreign banks with trading radiation to 140 countries and regions.
