On January 11th, a symposium on cooperation and exchanges between Sichuan Province and North Europe as well as Baltic States was held in Chengdu. Ms. Lohra, speaker of Finland, Mr. Thommessen,speaker of Norway, Ms. Moore Nece, speaker of Latvia, Mr. Sigfusson, speaker of Iceland, Ms. Finet, first deputy speaker of Sweden and Mr. Guerra Weitz Cass, vice chairman of the parliament budget committee of Lithuania attended the symposium and delivered speeches. All of them expressed their willingness to exchange and cooperatewith Sichuan in various fields and participate in the construction of “Belt and Road Initiative”. Mr. Chen Guomin, Deputy Secretary General of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress and Mr.Zhu Hexin, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government participated in the symposium.

　　Ms.Lohra, speaker of Finland, served as head of the delegation of national speakers of the North European and Baltic States. She said that China has vast territory and abundant resources, therefore different provinces have different realities;through field visits she has felt the vitality of Sichuan’s transformation and development. Members of the delegation all said that they were willing to actively participate in the construction of “Belt and Road Initiative” and carry out exchanges and cooperation with China and Sichuanin green energy, environmental protection, innovation and entrepreneurship, education and tourism.

　　Officials of Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Commission, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education, Department of Commerce and Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone have delivered speeches and exchanged ideas in the symposium.

　　Before the symposium, the delegation of North European and Baltic States visited the Planning Office of Chengdu Science City, NOKIA Global Technology Center (Chengdu) and Business Big Data Co., Ltd.
