In the first half of this year, 10 more companies of “Fortune Global 500” have settled in Sichuan Province according to the latest list fromFortune in 2017. Up to the end of this June, 331 enterprises of “Fortune Global 500” have been set up in Sichuan, ranking the first in Midwest China. Besides, 235 of them are overseas companies, with 3 newlyadded---learned by our reporter from the Provincial Department of Commerce on September 26th.

　　The newly-added companies are British Petroleum (BP), Medtronic and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) from the USA.

　　Last year, BP has signed product sharing contract with CNPC about the exploration, development and production of shale gas in the block from Neijiang to Dazu in Sichuan Basin. BP has set up its branch BP Exploration, Ltd in Sichuan. Medtronic has also put investment in two medical devices projects in Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, namely Medtronic Medical Instruments (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. founded in 2014, the world's first innovative development and producing projects of hemodialysis system, also the first multinational medical equipment manufacturing base in Chengdu. The founding of Medtronic Diabetes Technology (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. last year indicates that Chengdu has become an important region in the strategic layout of Medtronic's global diabetes business. What’s more, Hewlett Packard Enterprise has also set Hewlett Packard (China) Co., Ltd. Chengdu Subsidiary in our province, majoring in software and hardware.
