On May 18, the China-Visegrad Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights was held in Chengdu. Shen Changyu, Director of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China, and Wang Ning, Member of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, attended the seminar and made remarks.

　　The seminar, themed by IPR-Driven Innovation and Common Development, was sponsored by the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China and the Polish Paten Office. It centered on the IPR cooperation between China and countries from the Visegrad Group, a regional cooperation organization consisting of Hungary, Poland, Czech, and Slovakia.

　　Shen stated that, there is increasing cooperation and exchanges between China and the Visegrad Group including IPR cooperation. Much important far-reaching consensus has been reached in the Road and Belt Summit opened days ago, providing new chances and right direction for the Belt and Road IPR cooperation. China is eager to constantly deepen the IPR cooperation and exchanges with the Visegrad Group as a demonstrating example in the regard. He hoped that all the guests, by taking the seminar a platform, presented a full picture of the development of IPR in all countries and discussed and shared the experience in improving the innovation and entrepreneurship through IPR development, so as to provide more solid foundation for the technological innovation and economic prosperity in all countries.

　　Wang Ning claimed that, Sichuan is a province with huge population, rich resources, booming scientific and technological and economic development, as well as an important region connecting Asia with Europe in the Belt and Road construction. Over the years, Sichuan has been actively engaged in promoting the IPR reform and innovation and expanding IPR cooperation with Visegrad Group in the hope of enhancing mutual understanding, deepening exchanges, and pursuing common development.

　　He Zhimin, Vice Director of the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China, and officials from the Polish Patent Office, Hungarian Intellectual Property Office, and the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic, also attended the seminar.
