The First Overseas Promotion of Western China International Fair Import and Export Expo (referred as WFIF-IEE hereafter) was held in March 8th local time in the afternoon in Paris, during which, the basic information of western China, Sichuan Province, exhibition industry of Sichuan, achievements made in WFIF, and 2017 WFIF-IEE were briefed.

　　The 2017 WFIF-IEE will be hosted in Chengdu from September 15th to 18th, themed by Trade for Cooperation and Development. The Expo, covering an area of 60,000 square meters, consists of three main parts including industrial cooperation, commodity trade, and service trade, with exhibition pavilions encompassing areas such as electronic information, equipment manufacturing, import food and beverage, import garment and accessory, import maternal and infant care products and daily commodities, and import handiworks. Also designed are venues for BRICKS countries, One Belt One Road countries, and local cities and prefectures to display distinguished products both in and outside Sichuan Province.

　　Relevant parties from Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in France, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France, Paris Branch of Bank of China, and economic fields attended the Promotion. The Promotion also attracted deputies of enterprises and associations as well as government officials in various industries including aviation and aerospace, smart manufacturing, environmental protection, education, tourism, finance, automobiles, agriculture, culture and supermarkets. A large number of French companies have expressed the eagerness to send delegation for WFIF-IEE in Chengdu.

　　Insiders perceive that success of the Promotion is largely benefited from the good momentum gained by French enterprises in Sichuan Province. At present, many French-invested enterprises have established sub-companies in Sichuan such as Groupama, Auchan, Lafarge, and Carrefour. At the same time, with the deepening implementation of national strategies such as One Belt One Road initiative and Yangtze River Economic Belt, the development opportunities created by opening-up in Sichuan have also seized attention from other industries in France.
