On the morning of December 15, the launching ceremony of tourism promotion activity of Giant Panda Going Global•China-Euro (Chengdu-Euro)Express Railway was held in the modern logistics and commerce zone of Qingbaijiang District, Chengdu. In the ceremony, an express railway painted with the theme of “Giant Panda Going Global” drove slowly into the venue, attracting people’s attention. Its headstock and the carriages are painted with many giant pandas. Interesting, naïveand adorable, each one has different postures, running, sitting, or lying.

　　It has been learnt that this tourism promotion event is another new measure of the global marketing activities of Sichuan tourism, aiming to connect that of “2018 China-EU Tourism Year” through Chengdu-Europe Express Railway, to integrate itself into the “Belt and Road Initiative”, to market Sichuan tourism and to attract more overseas tourists for a broader space for its development.

　　Last September, a grand international tourism marketing campaign of “Giant Panda Going Global•Beautiful China” began all over the world. With the theme of “Sichuan:Not Only Giant Pandas”, it has actively promoted the beautiful sceneries, culture, folk customs and delicious food of Sichuan. The cute “Giant Panda” went one after another to tourists’ origins like Austria, Malaysiaand Thailand to promote cultural tourism products represented by giant pandas to the whole world, ushering in a “global tourism boom of Sichuan”. In March this year, it was launched again and has now gone to Nepal, Austria, the United States, Thailand and Japan.

　　The direct freight line of Chengdu-Europe International Express Railway, 9826 km long, is a transnational transportation tool. Departing from Qingbaijiang Container Central Station, Chengdu, it goes to Baoji and Lanzhou, abroad in Alashankou, Xinjiang, then Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus,and finally arrives in Lodz Station of Poland.
